The Z-Coil is built on an orthotic called the Z-Orthotic. This orthotic provides a strong, rigid support for the foot's arch which elimates the chances of developing heel spurs or plantar fasciitis.
The Spring Suspension System is the primary factor in reducing skeletal pain and absorbing shock to the body. It provides four times more cushioning than any other shoe and gives more than 1 inch of compression (27mm).
U.S. Dept. of Energy tests conclude that Z-Coil Footwear reduces the rate of impact to the body by 50% or more while providing an energy return of 40-50%.

| | | Frequently Asked Questions Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Which ailments does Z-CoiL® Footwear normally alleviate?
Arthritis & Joint Pain - immediate and long-term relief
Back Pain & Sciatica - immediate and long-term relief
Foot Pain
Heel Spurs - immediate relief and quick recovery time
Plantar Fasciitis -- immediate relief and quick recovery time
Metatarsal (forefoot) Pain -- immediate relief and quick recovery time
Body Fatigue - immediate and long-term energy boost
2. Are Z-CoiLs stable?
Yes, Z-CoiLs are exceptionally stable and are often more stable on uneven surfaces than normal shoes. The flexible spring can absorb deviations on uneven surfaces without forcing the ankle to turn.
3. Can I run in Z-CoiLs?
Yes! Runners love Z-CoiL® Footwear because they dramatically cut the shock incurred with each stride (impact = 3 times the body weight).
4. Will rocks and debris get caught in the open coil?
Rocks and debris getting caught in the coil does not happen very often, however you should always use caution around cords, hoses, and other tripping hazards. Remember, if something is small enough to get in, it is small enough to get out with a slight shake of the foot.
5. How long will it take to get used to my Z-CoiL® Footwear?
It takes from five minutes to a few hours for most people to adjust to the tremendous cushioning and overall "softness." Many customers complain that after wearing Z-CoiLs, their ordinary shoes feel flat and unsupportive.
6. How long will my Z-CoiLs last?
If you wear your Z-CoiLs every day, you can generally expect them to last about 1 year, depending on the surface you walk on. Often, it is only the heel pad that needs replacing after one year. In that case, we recommend replacing both heels at a cost of $49.99 per pair. Note: even though only one pad may need replacing, we recommend getting both the left and the right coils replaced. This will provide the most consistant and balanced response from the coils on both sides.
7. Are Z-CoiLs safe to wear?
Wear your Z-CoiLs only in areas, including work areas, which are free of cables, cords, protruding objects, and objects that could catch in the spring. In the event you are in an area with such objects, we urge you to take caution and watch your step. Use common sense when wearing your Z-CoiLs.
